Mini Sweetie Jars

These sweet jars are perfect last minute treat gifts and things are so much cuter in miniature.
You may have some unexpected last minute gifts to give or visitors to your home around this time of year, so today I have a quick and easy solution that can be on hand [and gifts you'll be more than happy to keep for yourself if you don't use them].

I have a special ability to turn any jar, bowl or container into a sweet jar - herb and spice jars are perfect miniature versions of retro sweetie jars - I picked these up from Ikea for £1.98 for four.
These can be filled with anything [size permitting] and around this time of year, family-sized chocolate tins are all on offer at the moment - £4 for enough to fill around 10 of these little jars [minus the toffee ones nobody likes], full of bright colour and pretty shiny wrappers.
To make the jars a little more occasion specific, add little gift tags, name tags or handmade decoration:
Easy Peasy.
Perfect little stocking fillers, table favours or little tokens for your neighbours.  These work out at
under £1 each to make - give or take a few pence for any trimmings or decoration you may add.

These will be going on the Christmas table and I've already planned Easter versions of pastel-y chocolate.  Filled with retro sweets or colour themed sweets they make the best mini traditional sweetie jars and are perfect [and cheap] for favours, party gifts and mini presents.  They don't need to be limited to sweets either - fill with small figures, toys or partybag fillers.

see you next time x

  1. That's a great idea, I have bought the retro sweet hampers before from All Occasion Sweet Shop and they make a brilliant gift for people who have everything (especially men as they are so hard to buy for) these are great too. "All Occasion Sweet Shop"
